Frequently Asked Questions
If you’re wondering how Life Load works, you’re not alone. Here are answers to some of the most common questions we hear.
Who is Life Load for?
Life Load is designed for anyone carrying the mental load of running a household – couples, single parents, co-parents, blended and multi-carer families, carers, and neurodivergent households who benefit from externalising tasks and reminders. If you've ever felt like you're the one who remembers everything, Life Load is for you.
Do I need to download an app?
Yes. Life Load works via our mobile apps for iOS and Android. You can access your shared plan anywhere your phone goes.
Can I invite people outside my household?
Yes. Each Family Space supports up to 4 Full Access members (Organizer/Co-organizer), unlimited Helpers (view and mark complete only), and up to 20 child profiles. You can invite people from outside your household — family, friends, or support staff. Each Organizer/Co-organizer needs their own subscription after their Trial to keep Full Access.
What are Organizer, Co-organizer, and Helper roles?
Organizer and Co-organizer have Full Access: they can create and edit tasks, events, and reminders, and they can invite and manage members. Full Access is per person — each Organizer/Co-organizer needs their own subscription after their Trial. Helpers are free and can view shared items and mark them complete, but can’t create or edit. Why are there location limits on Android?
On Android, some location features use Google’s Places services, which have per-use costs. To keep pricing fair and prevent surprise costs, we enforce daily and monthly quotas. Your subscription bundle (Standard/Plus/Max) changes Android location quota allowances only — all Full Access bundles unlock the same app features. On iOS, location searches currently don’t count towards in-app quotas. See Acceptable Use →
Can my ex or co-parent use this if we don't live together?
Absolutely. Life Load works great for separated families. You can share specific tasks, events, and handover notes with your co-parent without sharing everything. Each person controls what they see and share.
Will Life Load integrate with my existing calendar?
Life Load syncs with your device's calendar, so any calendar account on your phone – Google, Outlook, iCloud, or other CalDAV-compatible calendars – will work automatically. Events you create in Life Load appear in your chosen calendar app and vice versa.
Does Life Load work offline?
Yes. You can view and add tasks offline, and they'll sync automatically when you're back online. Perfect for spotty reception at school pick-up or the supermarket.
How secure is my data?
Life Load is designed to be local-first: most of your data stays on your device. When you use Family Space sharing, shared items are protected with end-to-end encryption so only invited members can read them. For email-to-task, emails are briefly processed to apply your rules and then encrypted for delivery to your devices. Learn more in our Privacy Policy →
Where is my data stored?
Most of your data lives on your own device. When you use Family Space sharing or email-to-task, encrypted data is routed through our cloud infrastructure (for example, Cloudflare and other service providers), which may process data in Australia and overseas (such as the US or EU). We don't sell your data or use it for advertising. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
What happens at the end of the trial?
At the end of your free 14-day Trial (per person), you'll be invited to subscribe to keep Full Access. If you decide not to, you can still participate as a Helper in any Family Space you’re invited to (view and mark complete only). We'll never hold your data hostage.
What if I stop paying – do I lose my data?
No. Your data remains on your device. If you cancel your subscription, you’ll lose Full Access when your current billing period ends, but you can still use Life Load as a Helper in any Family Space you’re invited to (view and mark complete only). You can export or back up your data from within the app at any time while you have access to it. See our Terms for details. See our Terms of Service for details.
